Forward Fremont County’s one-half percent (½%) sales tax passed in August 2020 and will be back on the ballot in November 2024. The initiative has been funding county-wide transportation services and grants for economic development projects with sales tax collections since April 1, 2021.

How does the tax ensure transportation?

Thirty percent of the sales tax collections for this initiative are dedicated to transportation services within Fremont County

  • Transportation infrastructure: 20% of the revenue is used to support transportation infrastructure such as commercial air service and ground transportation.

  • Ground transportation: 10% of the revenue is used to support ground transportation such as public transit and taxicabs.

How can I pitch an economic development project?

  • Fremont County’s oversight committee, Making Opportunity for a Viable Economy (MOVE), is accepting funding applications on a quarterly basis. Find MOVE program rules and the application for funding here.

  • Lander’s committee, Lander Investment for Tomorrow (LIFT), has application information here.

  • Contact the City Councils for Dubois, Hudson, Pavillion, and Shoshoni regarding projects and funding.
